2024 Community Philanthropy Award Recipient - Jackie Gainor
Jackie Gainor, Harbor Beach, was recognized on September 12, 2024 as the inaugural recipient of the Huron County Community Philanthropy Award for her outstanding volunteerism and commitment to community philanthropy.
To commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Huron County Community Foundation the HCCF Board of Trustees introduced the Huron County Community Philanthropy Award. This award celebrates our history of humble beginnings, 30 years of service and impact in Huron County, and pays tribute to the incredible people who made it happen. HCCF was founded in 1994 with the vision of individuals giving together to create a larger community impact. HCCF was started with an initial gift of $1,000 and now manages over $7 million in endowed assets.
The Huron County Community Philanthropy Award honors a living individual or couple for service as a volunteer, a board member, or a donor who made a significant effort to help grow our community through philanthropy in Huron County.
To celebrate the vision of our organization’s founders and the spirit of generosity found throughout the county, HCCF is proud to award this distinction. The inaugural recipient is Jackie Gainor of Harbor Beach. Jackie has demonstrated a lifetime of commitment, impact and support of a wide variety of community organizations. There is rarely an event in Harbor Beach where you won’t find Jackie volunteering. Whether it's the Athletic Association, the Harbor Beach Lighthouse, Maritime Festival, the Chamber of Commerce, at the Community House or raising funds for Adopt a Family, Jackie is always the volunteer who shows up, does the work, and prefers no recognition. The Community Philanthropy award recognizes someone who has made a significant effort to grow our community through philanthropy. And it is people like Jackie who make it possible for our small communities to thrive. The nomination submitted in support of Jackie said “She is the picture of community philanthropy in my mind.” And we agree.
Congratulations, Jackie! Thank you for your dedication to community philanthropy and countless hours you have devoted to local organizations.
The Huron County Community Philanthropy Award will be awarded annually at the HCCF Annual Celebration. Nominations will be accepted in August each year. Please consider nominating a living individual or couple that is committed to supporting the community through philanthropy. All nominations are reviewed and selected by an HCCF committee.
